This is our motorcycle. Over the last three years it has carried us on various adventures through France (including Corsica) and Germany before we had our camper van. It has also taken me, in the company of my fellow biker Andy, further afield to Romania via Austria, Hungary and Slovenia. It has a one litre, race developed 165BHP fire-breathing engine capable of rushing us through the sound barrier, so it is ideal for tootling along, two-up for the supermarket run. The panniers are perfectly designed to hold french baguettes and croissants. Our helmets have communicators so we can talk to each other and Claire is able to inform me when she is in disagreement with the Garmin Satnav. Now we have the best of both worlds where we don’t have to do long motorway miles on the bike, but can trail it behind the camper-van. Wulf gives us the freedom to leave the campsite when we are keen to travel further afield and explore areas that are too far away for our bicycles.

Have you imbibed the black wine from Cahors?
As it’s been hot we’ve been mainly drinking the local Malbec rosé but plan to try the red soon. We’re doing a ´balade vigneronne’ tomorrow evening with a tasting so will report back further…
